• Active noise canceling adds a layer of electronic noise canceling on top of the noise that that ear cup already blocks. The electronics use a microphone to observe the ambient noise, invert the sound wave, and then reintroduce it to the ear cup so that the sounds cancel each other. All that’s left is the sounds that you want like ATC, intercom, and music.
