Collection: Marine Shipyard Cable
Marine Shipyard Cables are used for wiring on ships, offshore applications, and various marine installations. Common uses include oil drilling, power supply, signal systems, marine equipment, and communications. The main benefit of these cables is extreme resistance to temperatures, oil, and moisture, including saltwater.
Types of marine shipyard cables sold by Nassau National cable include Type P Polyrad Oil Gas XLPO, Pendflex Pendant cables, type W magnet crane cables, and marine cables.Read More
Type P Polyrad Oil Gas XLPO is designed for use in harsh environments, such as offshore drilling, marine rigs, and petroleum facilities. It has flame-retardant Crosslinked Polyolefin insulation and a jacket from sunlight resistant CPE. The cable with a soft annealed flexible stranded tinned copper conductor is resistant to vibrations. It produces less harmful gases in case of flame exposure.
Pendflex Pendant is a 600V marine wire used in festoon systems, pendant stations, power tracks, cranes, power carriage systems, and marine reels. PENDFLEX™ is a patented system that ensures extra-flexibility. Cables come with PVC insulation and annealed stranded bare copper conductors.
Type W magnet crane cables are used in scrap yards, foundries, and other installations where there is a severe risk of metal cut through. They are built to resist accidents in magnet cranes. These wires resist cuts over, puncture, tearing, abrasion, and mechanical impact. They are equipped with extra-flexible rope stranding (Class K) soft-drawn uncoated copper conductors, and color-coded Thermoset (EPDM) insulation.
Marine cables are designed for application in a highly corrosive marine environment. They vary depending on specific applications, insulations, and conductors. Common conductors include tinned copper or stranded bare copper, depending on a particular type of a cable. Some insulations are flame-retardant PVC, silicone rubber glass tape, extruded silicone rubber, ethylene or propylene rubber, Type T (polyvinyl chloride), and cross-linked polyethylene. Jackets are made of either cross-linked polyolefin, silicon rubber, or polyvinyl chloride. There are marine cables for any shipyard applications.
