500-4 Type MC Metal Clad Aluminum Interlocked Armor AIA PVC Jacketed Copper Feeder Conductor
Allowable Ampacity for 500-4 TYPE MC PVC JACKETED COPPER FEEDER CONDUCTOR at 75°C: 380 Amps
Allowable Ampacity for 500-4 TYPE MC PVC JACKETED COPPER FEEDER CONDUCTOR at 90°C: 430 Amps
Applications:
The metal clad cable is an electrical wire designed for use in both dry and wet locations not exceeding 90°C. The cable is armored with a lightweight steel interlocking strip, which offers great mechanical protection. The MC aluminum armored wire also has a green insulated grounding conductor and a PVC jacket. This electrical cable is lightweight and therefore, not labor-intensive, which makes it a cost-effective option over other piped wire installations.

Construction
Conductors:
This aluminum armored cable has a stranded insulated or bare copper conductor. Copper is the most common material used in electrical wires and cables, which is mostly because it has amazing electrical properties and is cheaper compared to other metals. The stranding enhances its flexibility and enables it to carry more current.
Insulation:
This metal clad cable insulation is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is lead-free. PVC is a strong material and can withstand any punishing environment it is subject to. It can withstand heat, moisture, impact, abrasion, corrosion, chemicals, oils, and weather. The PVC is color-coded to enable easy identification of the cable.
Armor:
The interlocking galvanized lightweight steel strip serves as armor applied over the assembly. The armor makes the MC cable highly resistant from crush and rodent as well as ensures installation with no extra inner duct or conduit.
