16 AWG 3C Pyrotenax MI BC UnJacketed SYS 1850 600V 2-hour Fire Rated Cable

Also Know As:

16/3C Pyrotenax Cable, 16/3C 2-hours Fire Rated Cable, 16/3C MI Bare Copper Cable, 16/3C Mineral Insulated Cable, 16/3C 2 hours sheated Fire rated cable, 16/3C Fire Rated Cable 300V, 16/3C Fire Rated Cable 600V

Description:

• nVent PYROTENAX System 1850 Bare Fire Rated Cable is a range of mineral insulated (MI) 2-hour fire-rated wiring cable for critical and essential circuit protection. It consists of solid copper conductors in a continuous copper sheath (System 1850) and is allowed to be used under virtually any application conditions by both the NEC and CEC. Cable terminations are typically field installed. Factory terminated wiring units are available in a range of sizes and lengths.

• When installed in accordance with nVent installation procedures, the result is a UL/ULC 2-hour fire resistive system. This certification meets the requirements of an “Electrical Circuit Protective System” as referred to in Articles 695 and 700 of the National Electrical Code (NEC). The details of this system appear in Electrical Circuit Integrity System (FHIT and FHIT7), System No. 1850, of the UL and ULC Fire Resistance Directory.

• System 1850 cables are manufactured using only inorganic materials, copper and magnesium oxide, and arrive on the job site with a UL fire-resistive classification that does not require additional conduit or fireproofing. Unlike a conduit and wire system, System 1850 unjacketed single conductor cables, configured according to Section 332.80(B) of the National Electrical Code or Section 4-004(10) of the Canadian Electrical Code, do not require derating and can be installed using the “free air” ratings of Table 310.15(B)(17)(NEC) or Table 1(CEC).

Features:

• Ultimate performance: fireproof, no smoke generation, zero halogens, high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, waterproof and non-ageing
• UL fire-resistive classified, does not require additional conduit or fireproofing
• UL Classified/ ULC Listed: tested to the UL 2196/ULC-S139 fire test standards
• Meets requirements of an Electrical Circuit Protective System, as referred to in Articles 695 and 700 of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• System 1850 appears in Electrical Circuit Integrity System (FHIT and FHIT7) of the UL/ULC Fire Resistance Directory
• Complies with wet-location and LSZH requirements for transit applications as outlined in NFPA 130
• Reliable during long life: 30 year product warranty available

Construction:

• Sheath: Seamless soft-drawn copper
• Insulation: Highly compressed magnesium oxide (MgO)
• Conductor type: Copper
• Insulation voltage rating: 600 V

• Jacket (optional): Low-smoke, zero halogen polyolefin - refer to System 1850Z Data Sheet H59153
• Number of conductors: 1, 2, 3, 4, or 7 standard

Temperature Rating:

• Continuous exposure temperature: 250°C (482°F)
• Maximum exposure temperature: 1010°C (1850°F)

Bending radius:

• Cables ≤ 3/4" diameter NEC: 5 times cable diameter
• Cables ≤ 3/4" diameter CEC: 6 times cable diameter
• Cables > 3/4" diameter NEC: 10 times cable diameter
• Cables > 3/4" diameter CEC: 12 times cable diameter
